Parrot Festival 2010

"All About Parrots"

We have all been working really hard to bring you another dynamic Parrot Festival and now the time is almost upon us. This year we have several new raffle/auction opportunities. We have PayPal on our website to make registration and ticket purchases more convenient than ever.

EarlyBird must be post marked by December 31, 2009 leaving plenty of time to take advantage of this rate or group rates for five or more before the cost goes up. To register, buy raffle tickets, or your banquet ticket on-line go to our Registration page or to download a printable form go to our main page Forms.

Our new location, Doubletree, was newly renovated in 2006 and has
an easy floor plan. ** AND ** You can book you room online.

If you call to book your reservation Please be sure to mention Parrot Festival or our code NPA for our special room rates. December 31th is the last date to get the Parrot Festival hotel rates.

One of the things that make Parrot Festival special and why it stands out from other avian conferences is that we try to bring together ALL disciplines dealing with parrots rather than focusing on one issue.

Friday will start off with the All About Parrots” Q&A Discussion featuring Current and past Festival Speakers. While our panel has a generic topic there is nothing generic about our speakers or the invited guests and veterinarians on the Forum.

Dr. Natalie Antinoff will discuss Obesity in Birds: Causes and Consequences; Dr. Fern van Sant will speak about helping your birds Move It ! (The importance of exercise for our birds.) and Dr. Sharman Hoppes will give us a study Update on Proventricular Dilation Disease at Texas A&M University. Jean Pattison will talk about African Species of Parrots and Dr. Irene Pepperberg,“In Search of King Solomon’s Ring: Studies with Alex, a Grey Parrot”. Dr. Bayu Wirayudham, from Indonesia will give a“Progress report on endangered birds in Bali, Bo rneo, and other parts of Indonesia”. In the enrichment and training portions of our conference, Josee Bermingham speak about the versatile living quarters and lifestyle for your parrot and how this can benefit a long lasting relationship with your avian companion. Robin Shewokis will share her experiences in Enriching your Parrot’s Life. Chris Biro will give us methods on Free Flight and Avian Training , and last but not at all least is Barbara Heidenreich addressing behavior problems.

Our Forum, "All About Parrots" May sound generic,
but our Parrot Festival speakers and guest panelist remain as diverse as ever.

And Don't Forget !
Party N ParrotDise Friday evening with Men dancing the Hula, lots of fun and games. Saturday Night is the Banquet and Live and Silent Auctions.

So if you haven’t already registered, I urge you to do so quickly before the rates go up. Both you and your parrots benefit.

We hope you will plan to come to Parrot Festival 2010 and learn more about your parrots; connect with other bird lovers and join in the Festivities and in the process you will be helping the National Parrot Rescue and Preservation Foundation (NPRPF) meet its mission to unwanted birds and the avian communities. We are a 501(c)(3) all volunteer organization and 100% of profits go towards these missions.
