"Natasha"

tash-Diane tash-josh

Natasha - Came to us on Mayday of 2003, and is a four-year-old Timneh grey believed to be a female.   She is in perfect feather and a sweet girl but slightly shy.   It appears that Tasha prefers men since the owner's father hand-fed her and probably cared for her more than anyone.   She was given up because the father's job requires a lot of travel and the teenage daughter is heading for college and cannot take Natasha with her.    Tasha is missing her left rear toe but this does not impair her mobility at all.    Tasha has been vet checked and tested for Pacheco's and Psittacosis and we are rechecking these tests.   She comes with her own cage and toys but she needs a new cage, as the bars of her own cage are too large for her petite size.   She is an excellent talker and needs a home who someone who can provide her with lots of attention and love.   Her adoption is pending awaiting test results.

Note: Natasha spent several extra months in quarantine because she originally tested positive for Pacheco's and had to be retested two more times before it was determined the first test was a false positive.

In late Aug. 2003 Natasha found her forever home, and here's what she thinks about everything.   Hi to everyone back at the rescue center and thank you for working so hard to find me the perfect home.   I was a little nervous when I first moved in cause I had a big window in back of my cage and a whole new flock to get use to but it didn't take me long to unpack.   I discovered that that window opened up a whole new world of exciting stuff and my new flock is pretty interesting too.   The food's really good, I get showers every week and lots and lots of toys, plus I've already trained my new Mom and Dad to scratch my neck for hours, of course they get kisses and preening in return...   My new Mom is pretty astute, she figured out that I have balance problems from the missing toe and put a sleeping shelf in my cage.   I can't perch on swings or anything that moves so she's trying to fix me a playgym that won't scare me - but I don't know...  I've been having pretty good success teaching Mom her new name when I call "Ta--sha, Tasha   come here"; she keeps saying "I'm not Tasha--You're Tasha", but if that's so, how come she's the one that comes.   Well thanks again for my new home.   Mom and Dad say they love me lots and feel like I've been here forever and I feel the same.
